Job Title Admissions & Records Specialist
Job Description
Perform a variety of technical and administrative support tasks in the maintenance and management of the enrollment process and provide superior service to current and prospective students, and members of the College community.
Essential Duties Summary
Assist students with answering general student inquiries via telephone, mail, email, and in person.
Prepare and manage correspondence and documents; respond to student inquiries in a timely manner; resolve questions, complaints, or issues concerning services.
Provide optimal customer service including, but not limited to, courteous and responsive written and verbal communication.
Assist and empower students to navigate on-campus and online student service processes, including admissions, assessment and testing, financial aid, graduation, registration, new student orientation, etc.
Assist applicants to ensure a smooth transition from applicant to student.
Act as a resource for students on College policies and procedures, ensuring students have an understanding of their rights and responsibilities.
Assist students with completing residency determinations and troubleshoot residency problems students encounter; assist with residency reconsiderations and appeals.
Assist with processing applications, documents, forms, and other student requests as needed; maintain academic records; process correspondence for new students and missing items.
Utilizes our document imaging system to capture student information for permanent record keeping
Assist as needed with various federal, state, and institutional reports.
Analyze, review, and evaluate high school transcripts.
Ensure accurate entry of RISE placement and appropriate standardized tests and/or secondary assessments for College placement.
Process, enter, and log secondary transcripts in the student information system.
Assist with pre and post graduation duties.
Assist in maintaining the admissions pages of the website.
Assist as needed with development of student brochures, documents, and materials.
Assist with registration, as needed.
Assist students with scheduling advising appointments, as needed.
Assist with graduation and other College-related duties.
Participate in professional and staff development opportunities.
Actively participate in Student Services planning, evaluation, and program review.
Treat students and colleagues respectfully, speak to others courteously, and behave in such a way that creates a workplace environment that is marked by trustworthiness, honest but polite communication, and interpersonal interaction that are both personally cordial and professionally appropriate.
Serve on committees as required.
Perform other duties as assigned and other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
Salary Range Based on experience.
Starting salary range $34,320 to $51,480.
Required Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Associate’s degree from an accredited institution.
Skills and Abilities
Ability to work or meet in the evenings and/or on weekends, with advanced notice.
Ability to provide leadership in anticipating and responding to change.
Ability to work effectively and collegially with others.
Ability to use productivity software, including a general knowledge of word processors and spreadsheets, the ability to send and receive email, and to complete and submit electronic forms.
Employees are expected to perform essential computer skills (log on/off a computer, manage and organize files, print/scan forms using a copier, maintain and recall secure passwords and change password(s) routinely per College procedures).
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Provide exceptional customer services with people internal and external to the institution.

Physical Demands
ADA requirements for this position include critical thinking skills with the ability to process information, analyze data, make assessments, and exercise good judgment to make decisions; possess ease of mobility within the work environment and other areas of campus; and effective use of all forms of communication (oral, visual, auditory), including use of computers.
Be able to lift weights up to 10 pounds on a regular basis.
