LIFESPAN is hiring experienced, compassionate, creative, hardworking, friendly, and reliable Teacher Assistants to support children with developmental delays and typically developing children from six weeks of age until they start kindergarten in a blended, inclusive environment.
No previous experience in behavioral health services? No problem! We'll provide you the training you need.

As a Teacher Assistant in an Early Learning Center, you will assist the teacher with implementing activities that will help students reach their individual goals.

What you’ll do:
Utilize the center curriculum and teaching methods
Develop relationships in the classroom promoting social emotional learning and well-being
Assist teacher with implementing goal oriented planned activities
Ensure a safe, positive and stimulating learning environment
Perform various routine procedures such as positioning, diapering and feeding
Support inclusion and integration.
Mentor children to help build social skills and relationships.
Complete initial and ongoing training, and participate in staff development activities.
In addition, you may be required to:
Administer medications.
Training is provided.
Requirements:
What you need:
Pass criminal record and healthcare registry check
Pass driving record check if providing transportation
Pass Drug Screen
High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
One-year experience in a child care setting or working with special education students preferred
North Carolina Early Childhood Credentials; OR must be enrolled and successfully acquire NC EC within 6 months of hire.
Commitment to achieve competency in required knowledge, skills, and abilities
Note: Current First Aid/CPR blended or classroom certification is required.
If you do not currently have certification from an approved provider, our American Red Cross certified instructors will provide you the training.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds independently (per policy)
