Job Description
Oversees all staff and participants of Day Camp.
Directors will hold primary responsibility for the overall flow of Camp and should ensure accountability and support for all Day Camp Staff.
Directors are responsible for maintaining employees’ schedules; completing timesheets; supervising Summer Day Camp Counselors and campers; ensuring safety for all; developing activity schedules and organizing daily activities for campers; communicating camp procedures to parents and campers; maintaining a positive and professional environment for all; ensuring cleanliness of office space and general organization of supplies for activities; ensuring proper supplies and activities are available for daily projects; organizes field trips; orders daily lunches; preparing written and oral reports for incidents/behavior issues; completing evaluations on employees and performing related tasks.
Hours: Monday-Friday; First shift hours.
To compete in the selection process: Associates degree or Bachelor’s degree preferred; experience working with children preferable in a daycare or school setting, experience and knowledge concerning Daycares or Day Camp procedures; activity related safety regulations as well as sanitation requirements.
Must have the ability to: plan, follow written policies and oral instructions; hire and train employees; direct and supervise all ages; act quickly and effectively in emergencies; communicate effectively and maintain order;; develop and maintain professional relationships; and the ability to swim and have knowledge about pool safety.
