Make Your Mark at Prysmian! Overview: Reporting to Site Manager, the Claremont Sustainability & Environmental Manager develops and maintains all aspects of Company and Site Sustainability and Environmental Regulatory Compliance initiatives and processes for Claremont Campus (Fiber and Cable).
The Claremont Sustainability & Environmental Manager establishes and implements programs to meet current and future corporate sustainability initiatives; maintains and carries out duties associated with environmental management systems (ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018); drives compliance with safety and environmental regulations while keeping facility and corporate leadership informed; and manages permit applications and permit maintenance.
Th site HSE Manager will report to this position.
This position works closely with Site Leadership, Corporate and facility HSE, various corporate functions, as well as external agencies and resources.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities: Responsible for the development, implementation, training, and maintenance of company and facility environmental policies, programs and procedures to minimize company exposure and ensure ongoing compliance with all corporate and applicable HSE regulations (OSHA; EPA; DOT; etc.
).
Responsible for managing and leading site H&S Manager on all company and regulatory policies, programs, and procedures related to Health and Safety (direct report) Leads Site Team on implementation and maintenance of site Process Safety Management (PSM) Program for Highly Hazardous Chemicals.
Leads Site Team on implementation and maintenance of site EPA Risk Management Plan (RMP) for highly hazardous chemicals.
Serves as site CVI Authorized User – DHS Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS) Program.
Leads and maintains certification of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
Ensures ongoing compliance with Federal (Title V) Air Permit regulations and reporting requirements.
Develops, implements, and maintains all processes associated with hazardous wastes to ensure ongoing compliance with EPA Large Quantity Generator (LQG) status.
Ensures ongoing compliance with all other site environmental permits.
Maintains and implements site SPCCP and SWP3 plans Ensure timely and accurate reporting of energy and waste consumption (HSEDM) for site.
Drives environmental, sustainability, and energy improvement activities and projects.
Ensured timely preparation and submittal of regulatory reports including waste summary reports; TIER II; TRI Form R; and other annual reports as required.
Act as primary interface regarding investigations and compliance with any issues pertaining to environmental regulatory authorities.
Partners with Facility Leadership to participate in key HSE team meetings, Kaizen/Gemba events, and other key meetings where HSE representation is requested.
Owns relationship with local environmental consultant to ensure ongoing compliance, where required.
Serves as local site contact for Local and State emergency response agencies Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree environmental studies, engineering, occupational safety & health, or other related field.
5-8 years of direct experience with EPA and OSHA regulations, permit compliance, procedural development, energy and waste tracking and reduction Extensive knowledge of Federal and State Environmental regulations (EPA; DOT; OSHA) Knowledge of ISO Management Systems (ISO14001 & 45001) Experience with PSM and RMP Regulatory Programs Experience in manufacturing environment; cable manufacturing a plus Work Environment/Physical Demands: Works out of a normal manufacturing environment with standard office equipment available.
Will be required to sit, bend, kneel, squat, use keyboard, read, write, and speak fluently.
Employee will be required to work productively and cooperatively in a high-volume, fast paced, highly pressured environment and be able to respond efficiently and courteously to unanticipated problems and crisis.
