Summary of Performance Expectations.
Directly supervises all clerical and clinical staff in physician office.
Responsible for day to day management duties of physician office and staff.
Evaluates Clerical Office staff.
Evaluates Clinical Office Staff with input of physicians.
Ensures the practice adheres to Patient-Centered Medical home (PCMH) Standards.
Performs medical assistance duties, venipuncture duties, and other medical services provided in the practice as needed under the supervision of a licensed provider.
Utilizes a team-based approach to all tasks.
Education and Credentials:
Required
High School diploma or equivalent.
One-year clinical experience in emergency medical technician, medical assisting, phlebotomy or certified nurse assisting.
Medical terminology, general office operations.
BCLS certification from the American Heart Association required within three months of employment date.
Preferred
Associate degree in Healthcare Management or a related field or the equivalent in directly related work experience.
Extensive knowledge of information systems, third party payers: Medicare, Medicaid, and Worker’s Compensation and Managed Care.
Work Experience:
Required
Two years of team lead or management experience in a healthcare setting.
One-year experience functioning in a clinical setting with the ability to function independently while managing daily operations.
Experience with Compliance Issues.
Given training and on-the-job experience, incumbent should be proficient in the basic aspects of the position within three months of employment date.
Preferred
Management and clinical experience totaling three years in a large medical office setting.
ICD and CPT coding.
