Overview:
This position is responsible for performing daily metal working assignments in a professional manner with little direct supervision.
Responsibilities:
Interpret tooling specifications, blueprints, sketches, etc.
Plan sequence of operations for fabricating components
Set up and operate mills, lathes, grinders, including CNC controlled, and other machining equipment, etc.
Make and/or repair cutting tools, jigs, fixtures and gages
Fit, assemble and trouble shoot dies, molds, and assembly equipment, etc.
Take direction from the section lead or from the Tool Room Manager
Analyze the assignment and proceeds in a professional, timely manner until the assignment is complete Inform lead of project progress and completion
Complete assignments within proper quality specifications and in a safe manne
Provide training assistance to Toolmaker II, when required
Night shift, 4 on/4off, 6pm to 6am
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Skills:
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in tooling field, preferred
Minimum of 2 years manufacturing experience, preferred
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
Ability to use precise measuring instruments
Ability to communicate clearly
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to apply problem solving skills
Ability to utilize Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook at a basic level
Ability to communicate in verbal and written English
Requires standing, walking, sitting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, and feeling
Requires eye/hand/foot coordination
Requires the ability to lift up to 40 pounds

Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Associates Degree in technical field or Tool and Die Journeyman, preferred
Graduate of 4 year Tool & Die Apprenticeship program and/or 5 years experience in tooling field, required

Up to 5%
