Responsibilities:
Performs receiving inspection of all Steel products using a wide range of gages, tools, and equipment to ensure we are receiving the correct steel that is on the PO, verifying the COA and mechanical properties of the steel.
Self-starter and ability to work with little supervision and direct others.
Conduct sample preparation and hardness check using the Rockwell hardness tester and other measurement equipment.
Enter and match all coil steel documents and Rockwell hardness data into a record keeping system (eventually JDE).
Implement SPC tracking and analysis to corelate steel hardness from various vendors and steel grades.
Assist/Direct with product inspection and disposition in Manufacturing, raw material inspection and disposition, work instructions, gage instructions, pack instructions, sorting activities, PPAP activities, Gauge R&R, layout inspection, capability studies, and handling dispositions of returns.
Identify, record, and report any problems with manufacturing process to appropriate personnel.
Assist with root cause investigation of non-conformances or suspect conditions.
Perform calibration of tools and gauges.
Maintains appropriate documentation to meet Company’s ISO requirements.
Assist with improvement activities.
Plans and performs work accurately and in a cost-efficient manner.
Perform to company 6S standard and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
Perform duties of the job in compliance with all safety rules and regulations required by the Company, Local, State, and Federal provisions.
Qualifications:
Must have your High School diploma or GED.
1 plus years of Quality experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
Must have highly proficient computer skills with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Work, and Excel.
)
Must be able to follow the directions of the plant as it relates to Safety, Quality, and the Elimination of Waste.
Knowledge of Lean Principles and SPC is a plus.
Must be able to communicate well with others and work in a manner to support team environment, and work with limited supervision.
Must be able to work overtime and weekends, if necessary.
