Are you looking for a rewarding career with a dynamic company? We are currently looking for a full-time *Material Handler *to assist with metal recycling activities.
This position will be based out of our *Granite Falls, NC location.
* At JMB Recycling and Demolition, the exemplary Material Handler performs a full scope of yard responsibilities.
They support the needs of their location and create smooth sailing for the team.
This reliable team member is responsible for use of hand-controlled forklifts and forklift operation, loading and unloading all materials, receiving and shipping, picking orders, stocking and counting inventory, monitoring quality of goods and products, and completing all necessary paperwork thoroughly and accurately.
This team member also assists in sales-related administrative and customer service activities.
*Responsibilities:* * Properly follow company and OSHA safety procedures.
Attend safety meetings and participate in safety program.

* Meet physical and sensory requirements stated below, and be able to work in the described environment.
* Operate material handling forklift to move material within the facility as well as any and all other material handling equipment in a safe manner at all times.
* Load and unload trucks trailers of material with crane or other material handling equipment.
* Properly move and disperse scrap and trash materials.
* Process and prepare scrap metal material for shipping per instructions.
* Perform daily inspection and basic preventive maintenance on equipment.
* Direct customers within the facility and help customers unload material.
* All other duties as required.
*Qualifications:* * Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED * Will receive on-the-job training, does not need any experience.
* Ability to lift at least 30-75lbs.
* A highly self-motivated, attentive, authoritative and able to direct with ease and confidence who is a team player, with high ethical standards including but not limited to trust and integrity.
* Ability to work in all types of weather conditions.
* Ability to adapt to frequent changes of priority and complete job tasks safely and effectively without constant supervision.
* Bilingual preferred but not required * A clear understanding and adherence to safety regulations, without exception.
* Basic reading, writing and math skills * Ability to work with different types of employees, customers, vendors to ensure a cohesive work environment and positive customer experience.
* Knowledge of loading and unloading trucks, flatbeds, straight trucks, proper material storage and scrap metals is preferred but not required.
* Knowledgeable and aware of Public Safety and Security of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.
* Possess and appropriately uses Mechanical Knowledge of machines and tools (i.
e.
, Forklifts) * Possess and appropriately uses Operation and Control, controlling operations of equipment or systems.
* Possess and appropriately uses Critical Thinking Skills, using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
* Possess and appropriately uses Active Listening Skills, giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
* Possess and appropriately uses Speaking, and Reading Comprehension Skills, showing understanding of written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents, while being able to talk to others to convey information effectively.
