58 Monthly Max Status: Open Register Details: Requisition # 23-111313 Position Summary Under general supervision of the Community Health Bureau’s Clinical Services leadership team, this person is responsible for the overall supervision of the Immunization Clinic providing expert practice in nursing in a health department generalized or specialized clinic and assists in supervising or supervises staff within the Immunization Clinic.
An employee in this class is responsible for the organizing and implementation of the day-to-day vaccine administration of the team and works directly with families, infants, children and adults.
Pay Grade: 53 This position is eligible for a HIRING BONUS outlined below: 1st payment of $1,500 paid after completion of six (6) months of service 2nd payment of $1,500 paid after completion of twelve (12) months of service 3rd payment of $2,000 paid after completion of eighteen (18) months of service Minimum Qualifications 100% - 1.
Three (3) years of nursing experience, of which one (1) must be in a lead or supervisory capacity; and 2.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited Nursing program; and 3.
Possess or obtain an active RN license in the State of Tennessee by date of employment.

PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.
Duties and Responsibilities 1.
Provides leadership, assists in training/coaching/ workforce development for clinic staff involved in provision of immunizations to the public.
2.
Ensures accurate supply management and completion of monthly reports required for inventory, pharmacy, and patient records including TennIIS data input.
3.
Monitors and evaluates day-to-day performance of nursing and clinical clinic staff regarding clinical activities including immunization/medication administration and accurate documentation in medical records.
4.
Researches to stay abreast of current trends and practices regarding vaccine administration.
5.
Educates and informs public health staff about immunization updates via orientation sessions, in-services, meetings, and contribution to manuals.
6.
Educates, informs, and empowers the community in various settings while serving as a resource regarding current science and immunization practices to prevent disease and maintain health.
7.
Collaborates with the Office of Nursing and Tennessee Immunization Program in development of plans, protocols, and procedures and coordinates clinic site implementation of the plans.
8.
Enforces laws and regulations that protect health and ensure safety as it relates to federal guidelines for vaccine administration to specific aggregates.
9.
Links people to needed services through administration of immunizations in varied community venues (including health fairs) to promote childhood and influenza vaccine uptake.
10.
Investigates and assists in providing resolution of public complaints and/or requests for assistance regarding immunizations.
11.
Informs via internal reports regarding clinic activities, productivity, challenges, and concerns.
12.
Performs other related duties as required or directed.

Advanced knowledge of the principles of basic nursing.

Thorough knowledge of health and social service agencies and of community resources 3.
Excellent communication skills with clients and professionals, working knowledge of basic medical terminology 4.
Supervisory skills such as the ability to assign and provide oversight of work, provide training to enhance staff competence, consult with staff to clarify assignments and help resolve client roadblocks to services.
5.
Ability to educate parents, other professionals, and general public of chronic illnesses and medical conditions affecting children’s ability to function independently.
6.
Knowledge and understanding of goals, purposes, policies, and practices of the Immunization Clinic.
7.
Ability to use good judgment in evaluating situations and make decisions in absence of Deputy Administrator or a Public Health Clinic Supervisor.
8.
Ability to participate in the preparation and development of narrative and statistical data responses per Administrative request.
9.
Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form with diverse audiences.
10.
Skilled in the use of personal computers and related software applications for organization and supervision of work.
11.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Special Requirements 1.
Must have or be able to obtain an active RN license in the State of Tennessee by date of employment.
2.
Must possess a valid Tennessee driver license upon date of employment.
3.
Must have daily access to an operable automobile and meet county requirements for automobile insurance by date of employment.
4.
Must be willing to carry a cellular phone.
5.
Work will require travel to locations outside of the office.
6.
Must maintain all required certifications and licenses throughout duration of employment.
