Overview: As the Communications Manager at HSM, you will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive communication strategies that enhance our brand image externally and connect & engage our workforce broadly.
This role requires a strategic thinker with a passion for storytelling, strong communication skills, and a commitment to making a positive impact in our communities and across our workforce.
This role will be in-office in our Corporate Hickory location.

Our Corporate Headquarters is in Hickory, NC and houses our leadership, Finance, EHS, Human Resources, Benefits, and additional teams.
HSM specializes through its subsidiaries, in the manufacturing of components for furniture, bedding, transportation, packaging, automotive, and healthcare industries.
We also design and construct automated production machinery for these industries.
We likely have manufactured something you use every day like sofa or bed springs, pool noodles, recliner mechanisms, packaging supplies, fabricated sofa cushions, bus seats, and much more.

Responsibilities: Communication Strategy Develop and implement communication plans that align with corporate goals and enhance brand visibility.
Craft compelling narratives and messages to effectively communicate the company's values, mission, and impact.
Internal Communication – (f.
eg.
HSM Insights, Communication Centers, and 3TK) Develop and execute internal communication strategies to keep employees informed and engaged.
Coordinate internal announcements, newsletters, and communication campaigns.
Social Media Management Manage corporate social media channels to share stories, updates, and highlights of company efforts to attract prospective talent and engage our existing workforce.
Monitor social media trends and engage with followers to foster positive relationships.
Event Coordination Plan and coordinate corporate events, such as the bi-annual Leader Summit; Ensure seamless execution of events and activities Measurement and Reporting Track and analyze the effectiveness of communication initiatives, with an eye towards continuous improvement Prepare regular reports and metrics to measure impact and inform future strategies.
Media Relations (as needed) Build and maintain relationships with media contacts to secure positive coverage and promote corporate initiatives.
Draft press releases, media pitches, and other materials to generate media interest and coverage.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Communications, PR, Marketing, or a related field.
Master's degree is a plus.
Minimum 5 years experience in communications, PR, or corporate social responsibility.
Strong writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives.
Excellent project management and organizational skills.
Strong executive presence, positive attitude, and strong work ethic.
Proficiency in social media management and digital communication tools.
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
Passion for making a positive impact on communities and driving social change.
