Since 1998, Carolina Prime Pet Inc.
has been dedicated to providing premium, handcrafted dog treats that are responsibly sourced and made in the USA.
They're a dog-loving, family-owned company who provides top-notch dog treats while being the industry leader in developing new and innovative products.
The Owner is transitioning from day-to-day involvement in the business.
With this in mind, he would like to hire a President as his successor.
S/he will be a humble, hands-on leader.
The first objective for this role is to comprehend/perform the duties of the Plant Manager fully.
Once achieved, the transition to President will take place.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES *As President, s/he will:* * Lead from company headquarters in Lenior, NC * Oversee company functions, including sales, marketing, finance, and operations, via a team of direct reports.
* Implement strategic planning and execution.
* Strive for greater market share.
* Oversee manufacturing operations.
* Facilitate delivery of monthly financial and operating reports to the Owner/Board prior to each monthly management team meeting.
* Manage the annual budgeting process.
* Maintain a collaborative and data-driven corporate culture.
* Lead, support, and develop the leadership team.
* DO NOT APPLY - if you lack an MBA from an accredited school _The first part of the employment will be hands-on plant management expertise, as summarized below:_ *Process knowledge:* * Fully understand all production processes.
* Update SOP and SSOP's for all processes as needed.
*Equipment operation.
* * Know each piece of equipment thoroughly enough to understand the capabilities and limitations of that equipment.
* Time Study all operations – improve existing incentive programs.
* All products will be studied on a rotating basis or as needed to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
*Production Planning:* * Oversee weekly and daily production planning in Fishbowl in coordination with the Plant Manager and Purchasing Agent.
* Use operations management skills to ensure that production is planned in the most efficient way, in order to maximize time and profitability.
* Communicate any delays in production with Sales Director.
*Personnel:* * Collaborate with Safety Management and adhere to OSHA regulations.
* Establish and maintain a viable production team.
* Develop line supervisors as needed.
* Utilize drug testing program as necessary.
*Quality Control:* * Acquire a complete knowledge of product quality on each item (Product Spec Book).
There must be a 100%willingness to work with QC personnel to meet all customer and SQF requirements.
* Safety and Quality come first.
*Inventory Maintenance Program:* * Oversee that purchasing agent (using Fishbowl inventory program) maintains current and accurate inventory of all finished goods, raw materials, packaging, and associated materials * Maintain all items in accurate and infestation-free order.
*Maintenance:* * Collaborate with the Maintenance Director (MD) * Oversight of PM programs (including work order system) with MD to meet SQF and OSHA standards.
* Learn to recognize when unscheduled maintenance is necessary to maintain production standards.
* Encourage Maintenance Director to be proactive about recognizing unscheduled maintenance that is necessary and scheduling it.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS * MBA Required * Willing to relocate to Lenoir, NC.
* 10+ years of work experience in manufacturing and executive management * Proficiency at running financials.
* Able to facilitate a healthy culture within the company.
* Excellent written, oral, and communication skills.
* Data-driven, quantitative approach to decision making.
* A high level of proficiency with Microsoft Office.
* The ability to gain proficiency at any other necessary programs used by the company.
* Post-Hiring Training Requirements: HACCP Certification, PCQI Certification, Fishbowl and Fishbowl Advanced Mobile.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: $200,000.
00 - $250,000.
