What you will do Use instrumentation equipment to diagnose and service Laser Guided Vehicle Equipment.
Interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
Perform installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of photo eyes, proximity switches, limit switches, PLC input/output modules, and all associated control wiring.
Configure, troubleshoot, and repair motors and motor control centers.
Maintain and troubleshoot position feedback devices encoders and load cells.
Perform an emphasis on hydraulic troubleshooting and strong mechanical abilities.
Troubleshoot and diagnose configuration and implementation of integrated and stand-alone graphic human-machine interfaces.
Troubleshoot and diagnose specification of communication protocols, including Profibus, serial and industrial Ethernet.
Diagnose and perform preventive maintenance on Laser Guided Vehicles and associated conveyors and equipment.
Hold self and others to a high level of safety standards, ensuring workplace safety policies are upheld and safety rules are followed (lockout/tagout procedures, appropriate PPE).
Participate as needed in safety incidents and help investigate root causes.
Ensure the work environment is clean and free from debris.
What you will do Plan and prioritize daily work for the Electrical Technician team by working with NWT triangle members.
Direct Technicians in daily operations of the maintenance department, ensuring they have the necessary skills to be effective.
Drive a culture of continuous improvement.
Assist and coordinate continuous improvement projects such as 5S and kaizen events.
Observe key performance indicators and quality of work through TPM and daily equipment interactions.
Assist in troubleshooting and repairing position feedback devices encoders, load cells, hydraulic systems, natural gas burners, and boiler control systems.
Assist in programming and troubleshooting of DCS, PLC, and HMI interfaces.
Advise Equipment Operators and Converting Mechanics of SOP and SMP procedures while down work is being performed.
Schedule and facilitate business unit start-up meetings.
Communicate and track key performance indicators.
Provide training to Maintenance department staff for development.
Provide on-call support as needed for the facility.
Hold self and others to a high level of safety standards, ensuring workplace safety policies are upheld and safety rules are followed (lockout/tagout procedures, appropriate PPE).
Conduct monthly Leadership Safety Observations.
Participate as needed in safety incidents and help investigate root causes.
What you will need High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
Previous E&I Technician experience preferred.
Associate degree, Vocational Degree, or Apprenticeship program required.
Understanding of LEAN manufacturing, Continuous Improvement (CI), and Total Productive Manufacturing (TPM) concepts.
Internal candidates must have completed a minimum of Level 5 Qualification.
Thorough understanding of manufacturing safety procedures (lockout/tagout, confine spaces, personal protective equipment, etc.
) required.
PLC programming required.
Able to read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings required.
Ability to work on a variety of machines (Perini & ChinLee rewinders, UNO wrappers, Infinity wrappers, folded machines, etc.
) preferred.
Microsoft Office products, JDE work entry, Client Workflow, Process Map, Refrigerant tracker, etc.
required.
Forklift/Clamp truck certification required.
Industrial motor controls and troubleshooting required.
Able to work in a physically demanding environment including temperature extremes, loud noise, avoiding slipping, tripping, and falling hazards.
