SUMMARY The Distribution & Logistics Manager leads inbound and outbound finished goods, and international shipments, for Wood, Metal, Resin, Customer Service, and Jobsite orders.
The Manager is responsible for their Team’s Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity and Development.
This includes performance, performance metrics, SOP’s, work instructions, forms, and system use.
They ensure facilities, equipment, and other assets are operated, maintained, and remain in safe working order.
The Manager ensures Associates are cross-trained, actively participate in 5S, problem solving, and continuous improvement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

SAFETY: Ensure DC staff are trained and promote safety awareness, and ensure adherence to EEO, HAZMAT, OSHA, and KSC policies.
DISTRIBUTION & LOGISTICS: Manage inbound from Production finished goods.
Manage the staging and shipping of outbound finished goods, customer orders, and jobsite orders.
Coordinate trailers, including leasing, maintenance, movement, and storage.
INTERNATIONAL LOGISTICS: Coordinate and stage international logistics for inbound purchased goods, outbound finished goods, customer orders, and jobsite orders.
PROPERTIES: Establish and maintain Distribution Centers (DC’s) 1,3,5, housekeeping standards, insuring neatness, organization, and cleanliness in all areas of responsibility.
Maintain maintenance for all DC’s.
, including but not limited to DC 1,2,3,5.
Design and maintain effective storage layout and operation that addresses the physical, functional, and ergonomic requirements.
OTHER ASSETS: Coordinate equipment ownership and leases, including but limited to, tuggers, forklifts, floor scrubber, and racking, TEAM: Participate in an active and robust cross-training program.
Actively share resources across the Materials Team.
Create and promote a work environment characterized by mutual trust, empowerment, and job enrichment.
Provide timely performance reviews and ensure leadership conducts timely performance reviews.
5S’: Lead progressive 5S plans and activities, including but not limited to 5S checklist, continuous improvement action lists, red tag log and areas.
Be able to demonstrate an active focus on 5S.
PROBLEM SOLVING: Lead and ensure DC 1,3,5 Associates, and leadership including TL, Supervisors, and yourself are actively involved in on-going problem solving.
This includes but is not limited to PDCA, 8D, and A3’s.
Manager is responsible ensuring the training, application, and improvement results for using these methods for problem solving.
PERFORMANCE METRICS: Develop, maintain, and report performance metrics to ensure a focus on Safety, Quality, Delivery, & Productivity (SQDC).
Metrics to be introduced at the beginning of the FY, or as conditions arise.
Metrics are posted and discussed with Associates on a defined frequency.
Reports should be made available to Operations Leaders monthly, unless otherwise directed.
SYSTEMS: Co-lead relevant system feedback and improvement while maintaining audit documents and computer system records for accuracy.
Evaluate and propose productivity improvement leveraging technology.
STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES: Identify, create, and maintain a list of all Key Processes.
Develop, maintain, and communicate a list of all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for all key processes.
MANPOWER PLANNING AND BALANCE: Promote work methods that minimize loss due to damage and mishandling.
Organize daily workloads, and direct, supervise and coordinate product movement as it relates to the receiving, inspection, storage and distribution of finished goods, FINISHED GOODS INVENTORY ACCURACY AND CYCLE COUNTS: Ensure the proper, timely and accurate handling of documents, computer transactions and cycle counts.
Organize, supervise, and coordinate cycle counts, and assigned physical inventories to maintain accurate inventory records.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Manages one subordinate supervisor who supervises a total of one employee in the Receiving.
Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit.
Also directly supervises up to 6 non-supervisory employees.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this management job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 5-10 years progressive experience in a distribution and logistics role or combination of education and experience with 10 plus years experience.
Computer literacy expected regarding spread sheet analysis, word processing, and e-mail correspondence.
Possess familiarity and working knowledge of ERP, WMS, and Logistics systems such as Syteline, ViewPoint, ZOHO, etc.
Possess familiarity and working knowledge of Manufacturing and Purchasing functions.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to comprehend and apply principles of mathematical and basic statistical methodology.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written or oral form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS APICS and Forklift Certification desired.
