This is a grant-funded position with a nonprofit agency; Salary is posted at $10.
16 per hours for evenings or weekends; overnight shifts required.
May be eligible for additional hours and overtime pay when available.

PURPOSE OF POSITION: Provides evening coverage of Domestic Violence Shelter, provides emotional support to Shelter residents, oversee nightly operations; general housekeeping and maintenance of Shelter; coordinate client services and Shelter activities with other Shelter staff.
Work hours will normally be from 5 p.
m.
to 8 a.
m.
; however, are subject to change.
Operates under the supervision of the First Step Program Director.
CLIENT SERVICES RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.
Responds to crisis line calls and assists caller by meeting needs or service request.
2.
Admits and monitors incoming residents to Shelter facility in accordance with agency guidelines and policies.
3.
Provides crisis and ongoing support, within stated agency objectives and practice, to Shelter residents after initial placement.
4.
Provides nighttime Shelter Intake.
5.
Reports client needs and progress to Daytime Shelter Manager.
6.
Confers on a regular basis with Domestic Violence Program Director about client needs and concerns.
7.
Completes required routine administrative duties, i.
e.
, record keeping, reports and forms, in accordance with agency expectations.
8.
Provides transportation as appropriate.
9.
Performs other duties as the job may require, or as assigned by the Program Director or Executive Director.
SHELTER RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.
Provides nighttime supervision of Shelter operations; oversees general housekeeping and maintenance of Shelter.
2.
Provides supervision of Shelter clients’ activities and insures that Shelter policies and rules are followed.
3.
Confers regularly with Program Director regarding facility needs or problems.
4.
Works closely with and coordinates efforts with other Shelter staff.
5.
Performs other duties as job requires, or as assigned.
6.
Processes non-monetary donations and insures that they are properly logged, sorted, and placed in designated area.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
A.
Educational Requirements:
1.
High School Diploma or equivalency preferred.
2.
Work experience or life experiences which adequately equips individual for position responsibilities.
B.
Qualifications Needed:
1.
This position requires an individual who is mature, sensitive, dependable, and able to perform duties independently.
2.
Must have demonstrated skills in working effectively with people from all socio-economic groups.
3.
Must possess a strong interest and understanding of domestic violence.
4.
Must be able to work effectively within a team concept.
5.
Must be able to deal effectively with stressful situations.
6.
Must be willing to obtain CPR training within 90 days of employment.
7.
Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
8.
Must be a successful problem solver.
