Reporting to the Pre-K Camp Coordinator, you will actively participate in age-appropriate activities, ensure the safety and well-being of Pre-K campers, and contribute to a dynamic and engaging camp atmosphere.

Guide and participate in age-appropriate activities designed to enhance their skills, creativity, and teamwork.
*Supervision and Safety: *Ensure the safety and well-being of Pre-K campers during all camp activities, outings, and free time.
Provide constant supervision, promoting an environment that fosters a sense of belonging and personal growth.
*Collaboration and Communication: *Work collaboratively with fellow camp counselors, the Pre-K Camp Coordinator, and other staff members to ensure a cohesive and enriching camp experience.
Maintain open communication to address any concerns and contribute to a positive and collaborative atmosphere.
*Flexibility and Adaptability: *Be adaptable and open to adjusting activities based on the needs and interests of Pre-K campers, ensuring a dynamic and engaging camp environment.
*Training Week: *Participate in the mandatory training week during the week of May 20th to prepare for the upcoming camp season.
Contribute actively to training sessions and collaborate with the Pre-K Camp Coordinator to align with camp objectives.
*Weekly Schedule and Compensation:* * *Hourly Rate: *This position offers a competitive hourly rate of $10 for the 6-week camp duration, with an additional week of training.
* *Work Hours: *The position requires participation in a 30-hour workweek.
* *Camp Duration: *The Pre-K Camp is scheduled to begin on June 10th, and your active involvement will be essential for a successful start to the summer program.
*Administrative Tasks*: Assist in administrative duties such as attendance tracking, camper registrations, and documentation of daily activities, contributing to the overall organization and success of the camp.

*Specific Requirements* * Must be a minimum of 18 with high school diploma or GED * Positive and effective communication skills * Willingness to attend leadership training and continued education * CPR, First Aid, and Blood Borne Pathogens * Current TB test, criminal background test, and fingerprints * BSAC Training * YMCA Child Abuse Training *Physical Requirements:* Including, but not limited to: Walking, stooping, carrying minimum of 50 lbs.
, sitting, standing, pushing, climbing, kneeling, lifting minimum of 50 lbs.

*Safety Policy:* The Camp Counselor will be responsible for observing the following rules.
1.
No Alcohol or drugs will be used on the job at any time.
2.
Report all job accidents the same day the accident happens.
3.
Obtain authorization from your supervisor for all non-emergency treatments for accidents.
4.
Wear seat belts at all times in company vehicles 5.
Keep the area where you work clean and neat at all times.
6.
Do not remove or bypass any guards on any machinery at any time.
7.
Ask you supervisor when you need additional equipment or instructions to get the job done safely.
8.
Lift with your legs, not your back, and get assistance with loads over 50 pounds.
9.
Advise your supervisor of any hazardous conditions.
10.
Follow all other written and spoken safety rules.

This individual will provide a safe, clean, caring environment in accordance with YMCA child care and NC Division of Child Development guidelines at all times.

The purpose of such an initial introductory period is to provide an opportunity for both the YMCA of Catawba Valley and the new employee to assess their respective satisfaction and suitability to the job.
